Building Social Skills

  
   Does your child have difficulty initiating play or responding 
 when approached by peers? Is it hard for him or her to take 
 turns, follow along with activities, reciprocate during play, 
 and/or understand social rules? Our social skills group is 
 designed to help children with these social skills deficits and 
 more. The children will experience and practice social skills 
 in a variety of situations during the group process, enabling 
 them to practice. It will teach tools which may be practiced 
 and used in other social settings. Skills such as perspective 
 taking, social reciprocity, problem-solving, communication, 
 anger management, and decreasing anxiety will be addressed 
 using specially designed activities and materials. This group 
 will provide a safe, supportive environment for social skill 
 building and aims to increase your child’s social confidence.
