Speech Therapist
Biography
Kathleen is a Speech and Language Pathologist, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of San Diego. Her passion has always been supporting her community and working with children. She spent many years in youth development non-profit work developing and operating educational, recreational and athletic programs for children and families. She is most proud of collaborating with parents to provide opportunities for neurodiverse children to participate in all programming alongside their peers. During her time as a Coordinator for the literacy team at a County Office of Education, she found her love for speech and language therapy while collaborating at elementary schools.
She earned her Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Carolina becoming a Speech and Language Pathologist. She completed internships at local elementary schools, in a skilled nursing facility, and multiple pediatric private practices ultimately returning to her passion for working with children in a pediatric setting. As a mother of two young kids and her background in youth programming, Kathleen believes in the power of play to support the development of new communication and social skills. She enjoys learning about and nurturing each child’s unique strengths and interests to foster their communication growth.
